MES Supply Chain team work with engineer and plant to optimize the box size, pallet size according to the container size which MES will apply to use. By considering the max size of inner length, width, height, then define the pallet size for improving container space utilization.

 

Case:

Customer: Acuity Brands

Product: HS-1232

Annual purchasing volume:210,000 pcs

Quantity/pallet: 70 pcs

Pallet size:1.15M(length)X0.75M(width)X1.28M(height)

Container type:40HQ

Container inner size:12.03M(length)X2.39M(width)X2.697M(height)

 

Because of high purchasing volume of the part HS-1232. So, in most of case, MES load HS-1232in the whole container. According to this guideline of container space optimization, MES can load 64 pallets in each container. Therefore, the actual length for loading is 12M, 2.3M for width and 2.56M for height as the result of actual loading status. Therefore, the actual space utilization is 70.66 cubic meter and the rate really reach 91.7%.
